One of the Patriots’ most dependable point producers over the past few seasons has been kicker Nick Folk.
Nick Folk, a kicker for the New England Patriots, is one of the NFL’s most dependable players at his position.
The 37-year-old set a new NFL record for the most field goals completed inside of 50 yards during the Patriots’ Week 3 home opener against the Baltimore Ravens. He connected on a 35-yard field goal early in the second quarter to complete the feat.
Folk tied the NFL record with Ryan Succop last week with a 28-yard field goal kicked against Pittsburgh to continue his string of 57 consecutive field goals made beneath the 50-yard line (2014-17 with Tennessee).
In the opening game of the 2020 season against Miami on September 13, Folk’s 45-yard field goal attempt was his most recent miss from within the 50-yard line.
The 37-year-old tied for top place in the NFL in terms of points scored, field goals made, and field goal percentage (92.3%) at the end of the 2021 campaign. His biggest field goal was 53 yards, and he connected on 36 of 39 attempts.
Since he initially wore a Patriots uniform, he has received several honors.
Folk was honored by the National Football League in 2021 as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his contribution to the Patriots’ 25-22 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Folk has already received seven Player of the Week Awards during his career.
In 2020, he won two AFC Special Teams Player of the Week awards. He received the honors after Week 9 of the 2020 campaign (against the New York Jets on November 19) and Week 12. (vs. Arizona on Nov. 29).
